Did I tell you there are prizes?

Did I mention that one lucky person will leave the reunion with a $50 cash prize? Thank you to the Blue Hill branch of Bar Harbor Banking & Trust Company for this generous donation!

Reunion Updates

Hi Fellow Classmates,

We are getting down to the wire with regard to our 30th Class Reunion to be held Saturday, October 9 at Barncastle in Blue Hill. We need to give a count to the hotel by this Friday, Oct. 1.

I have enjoyed reconnecting with many of you during the planning of this reunion. And one thing that I've noticed is that there are a fair number of us that just don't feel like going this year. I'd just like to encourage those of you who find yourself in this category. Sometimes the best way to overcome difficult times is to face them head on. Other times the best way to deal with these times is to just take time off and give yourself permission to have fun and leave it all behind. I hope that's what we will all decide to do! Either way, you win.

So if you have been procrastinating on signing up for this reunion, I would like to encourage you to take the plunge. If you have already signed up to attend, great! Give a friend a call, and encourage them to come, too!

Joyfully,
Jo Ann Wescott Marino

The Latest News!

So a few weeks have gone by, invitations have been sent out, and perhaps you’ve started thinking about other classmates that might attend the reunion. We’ve even extended an open invitation to other friends from GSA that we went to school with. So now I want everybody to take the next step, and contact some old friends. I am looking for groups of 4 that will sign up to play GSA’s version of the Amazing Race.

This is how it works. Each group will be assigned a team photographer (in addition to the 4 on the team). Each group will need a vehicle that will hold 5 people. Groups will receive clues that will take them to various places in and around the Blue Hill area. Once you have figured out the clues, and reached these destinations, there will be a task that needs to be completed at each stop. The first group back to the pit stop wins!

Each photographer will take pictures along the way to capture all of the hilarious moments I’m sure that will take place. These pictures will be made into a slide show that will be shown later in the evening for all to see! So remind yourself of the friends you used to hang out with, get on the GSA web page and take a look at who’s planning to attend, and start building your groups! You might even be able to increase attendance by touching base with friends who weren’t planning to attend.

Sign up through me ahead of time (joeswife@comcast.net) and meet your group at Barncastle (on South Street in Blue Hill) at 10:00 am on Oct. 9 to go on your journey!
